It wasn't running when I got it (came with the home we bought), but I changed the plugs, put in fresh gas, new starter, and Voila. The other day it died about an hour into a cut. I pulled the lid off, sprayed the carburetor, put in a new air filter. WebMay 29, 2016 · Got a surprise for you JIM, my 982 Cub Cadet has an electric clutch, it's on or off, engages with a toggle switch. I've put 500 hours on it in the last 15 years, almost all of them mowing and have never had to adjust the clutch. EVER! Engaging the PTO at higher than necessary rpm is just wearing away expensive to replace friction material.
