My new go-to putty is Hubrol's fine white putty. It has the same characteristics as the old green stuff from Squadron but is much more fine. Quick drying time, strong, no shrinkage and sands beautifully! Milliput is great stuff for sculpting and structure.

I use it all the time and it dries really quick. Don't use it for anywhere you need to build-up filler though, because it will shrink over time. Oddly, it seems that the formula for the White putty was changed, as it used to be very good. WebAug 23, 2004 · I think that it's a fact of life that solvent based putty will shrink as it dries to one degree or another. I use 3M Acryl Blue which is an autobody glazing putty. It shrinks, but not as much as Squadron Green and it sands much nicer. It doesn't tend to "chunk" as much as the green stuff when you scribe a line in it either.
