It forages along the banks of waterbodies feeding primarily upon native fish and adult and larval leopard frogs. WebSonora tiger salamander and Chiricahua leopard frog are federally- listed as endangered and threatened, respectively, northern Mexican gartersnake is a candidate species, and northern leopard frog has been petitioned for listing.
