Webb28 juni 2003 · ROCK HUGGER. With the pitman arm that long it makes the steering quicker and you wont get full rotation out of the box. The 7" pitman arm is why you need the 4.25 turn box. If you ran a 3 turn box with a shorter pitman arm you steering would be about the same as you have now but you would use more rotation of the box. Webb31 dec. 2024 · It is at 5/8" which means torqueing gave it another 1/4". The Pitman arm is not supposed to bottom out on the box and the nut should not touch the top of the splines. It goes between those two points, but you should have the majority of the arm on the splines. Here is how much thread shows on the nut when installed.

It still has the stock pitman arm (which is almost perfectly straight) and the stock track bar bracket. I did have to lengthen the track bar because it was pulling the driver's side of the truck down, I'm not sure how they even got it hooked up! . Webb3 apr. 2006 · You can only mount the pitman arm in 4 direction. Imagine your truck being the compass rose. you can either do N,S,E,W.. you can't go in between. Look at your stock pitman arm you will notice the spline has a bigger gap every 90*. This is so you mount the pitman arm the right way. MIke.
